How To Clean Wood Cabinets

Wood Kitchen cabinets look fantastic when they are installed in any kitchen. However, wood cabinets have a downside. They get dirty very quickly. Spills and drips can leave your kitchen looking dreary and unkempt. This is especially true if you cook a greasy meal, such as fried food. Oil can accumulate on your wood cabinets, which will leave a residue on the surface.

We recommend you clean your wood cabinets regularly, so they don’t dull over time. If you do, you will find the old shiny look you love about your wood cabinets will reappear.

To prevent the varnish from coming off on your cabinets, use a natural cleaning product. Once the cleaning is done, go ahead and apply polish. This process will really make your wood cabinets shine.

We recommend the following cleaning remedies:

1. Vinegar Solution

  • Mix a cup of water with a cup of white vinegar. This solution will not warp your wood cabinets or remove the finish. It’s a sure bet that is perfect for everyday use on wood cabinets.

  • If you hate the pungent odor of vinegar, add a small amount of dish soap to a cup of water. This method also works well. It will not only clean the surface but replace the shine.

  • Don’t use harsh all-purpose cleaners. They can dull the paint and warp the wood.

2. Wipe your surface clean to ensure beauty.

  • Let’s face it. When you’re cooking, food particles and grease can accumulate on wooden services. To avoid this, dip a clean rag into your vinegar solution. Then, wipe underneath the cabinets, and wipe down the doors.

3. Regularly clean out the inside of the cabinets

  • Regularly clean the inside of your cabinets. Sometimes, the foods you store inside can spill. Therefore, wipe down your cabinets every couple of weeks with a simple vinegar or soap solution for ultimate cleanliness.

4. Dust the cabinets regularly

  • Use a soft, dry rag to clean the outside and inside of your wooden kitchen cabinets if the dust isn’t too bad. After all, grease can cake onto your cabinets’ surface. It’s best to repeat this process often if you want a dust free kitchen. If you procrastinate, the job will be very difficult and time consuming to complete.

5. Purchase oil soap wood cleaner

  • Oil soap is a great product to use. It won’t damage your wooden surface, and it’s a powerful cleaning agent. Oil soap removes most substances from your cabinets, including grease. In fact, it’s even better to use than vinegar and dish soap solutions!

  • You should scrub in a circular motion with a soft rag or towel to remove stubborn grime.

  • After you scrub the surface, wipe down the cabinets with a clean cloth. This process will remove the oil soap along with the grease to make your cabinets appear clean and shiny.

6Using baking soda helps removed caked on spills

  • A lot of food spills that aren’t wiped up quickly can harden and become very difficult to get rid of. The solution for this issue is as simple as something you probably already have in your cupboards, baking soda. That’s right. Use baking soda because it is a light abrasive, and it will remove many spills and grease from the cabinets. Plus, it won’t damage them. After you scrub, use a damp rag to wipe the surface clean.

7.    Use a wood polisher

  • If you have a wood polisher on hand, you can keep your kitchen cabinets looking brand new. The natural look of the wood will be restored. Choose either a high shine or low lustre wood polisher, depending on how you want your cabinets to appear once they’re finished being cleaned.

  • To apply, just rub the polish over a small area of your kitchen cabinents exterior. Simply work in four or five inch increments and rub in a circular motion.
